LSU College of Engineering Honors $1 Million Donors at Homecoming Game

11/05/2014

On Saturday, October 25, LSU President and Chancellor F. King Alexander, Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Stuart Bell, LSU College of Engineering Dean Rick Koubek and LSU Foundation President and CEO Lee Griffin honored distinguished donors who have each contributed $1 million or more to the College of Engineering’s capital campaign to renovate Patrick F. Taylor Hall and construct a new chemical engineering building.

These honorees joined more than 450 individual and corporate donors in supporting the most successful, short-term fundraising effort in LSU history, raising 55 million dollars in less than 12 months toward the $110 million private/public project.

“The generosity and support of a remarkable group of donors along with the commitment from Governor Jindal and the state has made this project a reality,” said Rick Koubek, dean, LSU College of Engineering. “The momentum of their investment will position the College to take a leading part in securing Louisiana's position as a national leader in research and education.”

The University will break ground on the new engineering facility and expansion on November 17 with an estimated project completion for fall 2017.
