CSA
The CM Department houses the Construction Student Association (CSA) at Louisiana State University. It is open to all LSU students majoring in Construction Management. As ambassadors for the Department, CSA strives to advance the education, experience, and employability of its members by fostering professional and peer networking, to provide enhanced opportunities for professional education, and to promote the student agenda to the CM department of the College of Engineering at Louisiana State University. Students are encouraged to participate by applying for membership, attending meetings and planned social events during regular school semesters. Opportunities exist for academic as well as career development through various networking opportunities.
The CSA provides a contact point for students with industry representatives, alumni, employers and the Construction Industry Advisory Council (CIAC), CIAC is a highly regarded industry support group for the LSU Construction Management program. Activities sponsored or facilitated by CSA include:
- Monthly meetings with guest speakers
- Student-Industry mentor program with CIAC
- Community service projects such as Habitat for Humanity build weekends
- Football tailgate socials for students and alumni
- Annual Hog Roast
- Annual Crawfish Boil
- Annual CSA Banquet
