LSU’s Jennifer Qian Appointed to AECT Publishing Advisory Board

BATON ROUGE, LA - Jennifer Qian, EdD, associate professor of learning analytics and educational technology in the Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education at Louisiana State University, has been appointed to the advisory board of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology’s (AECT) Center of Excellence for Publishing. 
Qian leads the graduate programs in Educational Technology in LSU's Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education. Her scholarship spans emerging technologies and pedagogy, instructional design, and technology leadership. Her recent research focuses on AI models, prompt engineering, human-robot collaboration, and AI policy, literacy, and pedagogy. She also serves as editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Innovative Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and serves on the editorial boards for the British Journal of Educational Technology and the Journal of Computing in Higher Education.
“AECT and its journals were an important part of my growth as a doctoral student. I learned from influential scholars through their publications and presentations at AECT conferences,” Qian said. “I’m honored to give back to a community that helped shape my career. Emerging technologies, media, and publishing models are reshaping how scholarship is created, evaluated, and shared. This is a critical moment to uphold scholarly rigor while exploring new approaches and possibilities for advancing educational technology scholarship.”
Founded in 1923, AECT has helped shape educational technology and instructional design through its conferences, publications, and professional community. Its influence extends across U.S. higher education, where generations of faculty, researchers, graduate students, and instructional designers have contributed to the field through AECT. The Center advises AECT on publishing strategy and operations and prepares future authors and editors.
