At the heart of the College of Human Sciences & Education is one common goal: serving as CHANGEMAKERS on our campus.

Today, we highlight changemaker LSU Kinesiology Senior Rachel Lee Wall, who was recently named to LSU's 2024 Tiger Twelve Class.

During her time at LSU, Wall helped in founding the EMS Club of LSU where she served as President and VP of Membership over the past 4 years. This club inspired her to put herself through EMT school and become a Nationally Registered EMT. RaLee also served on Delta Gamma Sorority's executive board as the VP of Programming, and she is currently earning her Distinguished Undergraduate Researcher distinction, successfully defended her senior honors thesis on the effects of exercise on neutrophil function in colorectal cancer survivors, became a published 3rd author for her research in Dr. Spielmann’s lab in the Department of Kinesiology, and helped with the initiative to get more accessible AEDs on campus.

Each spring, LSU recognizes 12 outstanding seniors as the Tiger Twelve. These individuals, in keeping with the university's Commitment to Community, contribute positively to the life of the campus, surrounding community, and society and demonstrate commitment to intellectual achievements, inclusive excellence, leadership on campus, and service.

“LSU has given me tremendous and unique opportunities in leadership, academics, research, and service to grow into the confident person I am today," Rachel said. “From learning anatomy hands-on in the cadaver dissection lab to helping found the EMS Club on campus, LSU has encouraged me to meet challenges head-on, empowering me to flourish as an undergraduate and soon, as a graduate student.”

Upon graduation, Wall plans to move back home to the Florida Keys to work in the hospital emergency department, gain more direct patient hours, and travel abroad while applying to physician assistant graduate schools.

On behalf of CHSE, we extend a HUGE congratulations to Wall, as well as the other INCREDIBLE students selected to the 2024 Tiger Twelve Class.
