Erin Anthony is a licensed professional counselor. She joined LSU in 2007. As a counselor with University College’s Center for Freshman Year, she has worked with first year students in a number of capacities through various programs, activities, and daily advising sessions.  Anthony earned her Master of Science in Community Counseling.

Anne Becnel joined LSU University College Center for Freshman Year in 2019. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Education in School Counseling from Nicholls State University. Becnel is passionate about helping first year students achieve academic success.

Kris Bromley earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a Latin America concentration in 2017 from LSU. She then obtained her Master of Social Work in 2019 also from LSU. Kris is currently a Certified Social Worker and is working towards her Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license. She joined University College Center for Freshman Year in May 2019.

Jami Foret Cox earned her Bachelor of Science degree in General Family and Consumer Sciences from Nicholls State University in December 2014. She then obtained her Master of Social Work degree from Louisiana State University in May 2017. During her graduate program, Jami interned at LSU Mental Health Service and greatly enjoyed her work with the LSU population. Jami is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). She joined LSU’s University College Center for Freshman Year as an academic counselor in May 2019 and is excited for another opportunity to work with students on campus.

For the past 25 years, Tim Fields has served as a licensed academic counselor. Fields oversees University College’s academic orientation presentations to potential freshman during on- and off-campus visits. Fields has served as President of the LSU Staff Senate. He is President-Elect of the Louisiana Counselors Association. He has contributed chapters in Freshman Year Experience Proceedings and national academic athletic advising publications on student-athlete reform. In 2007, Fields was awarded Outstanding Advisor of the Year by the National Academic Advising Association, LSU Advisor of the Year, and University College’s Counselor of the Year.

Ashley rejoined UCFY in April of 2019 after serving as the associate director of academic affairs in the LSU Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes. Ashley has worked in various departments at the University, which include the LSU Student Health Center. Ashley earned both her bachelor's and master’s degrees at LSU. She was awarded the LSU Advisor of the Year Award in 2013 and the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Outstanding New Advising Award in 2014. Ashley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor (BACS).

Jennifer Wale Ramezan earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Community Counseling degree, both from LSU. She previously worked as an academic counselor with the LSU College of Humanities & Social Sciences. She currently works with all students interested in pursuing a Pre-Nursing degree from LSU. Ramezan’s passion for academic counseling extends beyond the office, as she assists students learning about all of LSU’s available resources, so that students are as successful as possible in their personal and academic paths. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the state of Louisiana and is a member of the Louisiana Counseling Association (LCA), Louisiana College Counseling Association (LCCA) and the Louisiana Association for Spiritual, Religious and Ethical Values in Counseling (LASERVIC).

Gwendolyn Snearl earned her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Science at University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly known as University of Southwestern Louisiana). She has worked in University College in a variety of roles, as well as in Multicultural Affairs.
Bethanie Tinker Bethanie Simon

Bethanie Simon joined LSU University College Center for Freshman Year in 2019 after previously earning more than two years of academic advising experience in university and college settings. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from LSU. Simon is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).

Abby Blanchard joined the Center for Freshman Year as a graduate assistant in January 2018 after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Nicholls State University in 2017. She is currently in her third year of the Clinical Mental Health Counselor Education Program here at LSU, and is currently interning with LSU Athletics’ Sport Psychology and Counseling Services, providing mental health services to student athletes, along with her role here at UCFY as an academic advisor to freshmen. She is expected to graduate with her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May 2020.
