Scheduling an Appointment using the Navigate Student App

The UCFY team is not hosting in-person appointments at this time. We are assisting students by email: ucfy@lsu.edu and virtual drop-ins/appointments.

Important LSU academic deadlines 

Virtual Appointments: January 22 – April 16 and April 26 – May 21, 2021
NOTE: April 19 - 23, virtual drop-ins only, no appointments offered, 8:15 AM – 3:30 PM (Central Standard Time) UCFY academic counselors will meet with students on a virtual appointment basis. During this time, UCFY students can schedule a virtual appointment through the Navigate Student app. 

When scheduling a virtual appointment, select the following options as prompted: 

  1. Care Unit: Academic Advising (UCFY/UCAC)
  2. Location: Center for Freshman Year (UCFY)
  3. Service: (select reason)
  4. Comment: Indicate major and advising needs  
    Prior to the appointment, an email will be sent with instructions on how to access the Zoom appointment (online or phone). If the major was indicated in the comment box, additional advising documents may be shared via email at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time. If the major is not indicated, important information may not be available at the time of the advising appointment.

Virtual Drop-Ins Offered ONLY: April 19 – April 23, 2021; 8:15 AM – 3:30 PM (Central Standard Time)
UCFY academic counselors are available for virtual drop-ins, no appointment needed, Monday, April 19 - Friday, April 23, 2021; check in only from 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM (Central Standard Time). Wait times will vary.

STEP ONE - VIRTUAL CHECK-IN

UCFY students can check-in for a virtual drop-in through the Navigate Student app.  Students can also visit the LSU Navigate Website to check-in.

When checking in, select the following options as prompted:

STEP TWO - MEETING WITH AN ACADEMIC COUNSELOR

Students will be seen on a first available basis. Wait times will vary. A text message and/or email will be sent with a Zoom meeting link when the academic counselor is available.  Due to the large volume of students needing assistance, students not present in the zoom meeting within 15 minutes may be marked as no-show and required to check-in a second time to be seen on a first available basis. 

Students can also send an email to ucfy@lsu.edu for assistance in dropping a class or dropping all classes (resigning).  Due to the high volume of requests during this time, email responses may be delayed longer than usual. While email requests will continue to be monitored and responses provided, priority assistance will be given to students seen on a virtual drop-in basis.
