Dr. Lori Latrice Martin

Dr. Martin is associate professor and the director of graduate studies in the Department of Sociology at Louisiana State University. She is also one of three core faculty in African and African American Studies at LSU. Born and raised in Nyack, New York, Martin has published 15 books and numerous other scholarly works. Her published works include the book, Black Asset Poverty and the Enduring Racial Divide. Her "real" and most important job is mother of Emir Sykes and Derrick Martin, Jr.
