Society of Student Historians

SSH members visit the "Haunted Mansion" in Baton Rouge

The Society of Student Historians or “History Club” has been created to allow students majoring in history, or anyone interested in the subject, to interact in a variety of settings, both formal and informal, to share their interests.

Activities can include parties, trivia competitions and field trips, as well as lectures and informational sessions with faculty and scholars, to discuss subjects including the best approach to take when applying to Graduate School.

The group often meets in conjunction with Phi Alpha Theta, the Honor Society for undergraduate students of history, but unlike that organization, SSH has no credit hour or GPA requirements for membership.
