Hodge Podge Nursery

Hilltop's on-site Hodge Podge Nursery is an outgrowth of Mr. Emory Smith's philosophy of bringing people and plants together. From its humble beginnings as a quiet corner at our annual October plant sale (now dubbed PlantFest!), Hodge Podge has literally "blossomed" into an all-volunteer mini-nursery operation that boasts upwards of 6,000 plants representing over 600 different species. Tucked into a shady nook near Mr. Smith's old home, the nursery has its own irrigation system, a greenhouse and homemade tables to accommodate our stash of propagated, purchased and pass-along plants, all lovingly tended by a notoriously spunky mix of dedicated volunteers.

We gather 'round the dirt bin most Wednesdays beginning at 9:00 a.m. and adjourn for lunch around noon to share a flavorful menu of potluck offerings and lively conversation. It's around the lunch table that ideas take root. All gardeners, in full bloom or in sprout, are cordially invited to join us. You'll be glad you did, and so will we.

Do think of us when thinning out your garden's overabundant plant population. You may leave your offerings; complete with ID's please, by the dirt bin located at the end of the service drive.
