G&A Professor Awarded Prestigious Carnegie Fellowship

Dr. Andrew Sluyter, Professor of Geography at Louisiana State University, is honored to have received a highly prestigious 2022 Andrew Carnegie Fellowship.  Out of 300 extraordinary scholars nominated by the leaders of select universities and other preeminent institutions, the foundation has awarded twenty-eight fellowships. Each fellow receives $200,000 over two years to support visionary scholarship on important and enduring issues confronting our society. His research focus for the fellowship period will be his project on Slavery and Higher Education: New Narratives on the Plantation Past, New Places for Racial Equity.  Check out the LSU Media Center's Article here!
