G&A Remembers Dr. Sherwood "Woody" Gagliano
One of our distinguished alumni, Dr. Sherwood "Woody" Gagliano passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020. He was considered the "Father of Coastal Erosion" for his pioneering work along Louisiana's coast and for being the first person to sound the alarm bells that Louisiana coastal zone was disappearing faster than it was being rebuilt by the Mississippi River. He completed all three of his degrees, from his baccalaureate degree to the PhD, in the Department of Geography and Anthropology at LSU. We are very proud of his achievements and he will be greatly missed.
