February 18, 2026
BATON ROUGE, LA - On Saturday, March 28, 2026, the LSU Writing Project will host a campus-wide Write-A-Thon designed to provide graduate students and faculty with dedicated time and space for scholarly writing. The event will take place in 225 Peabody Hall, with additional classrooms available for faculty members who wish to write alongside or convene doctoral students or writing groups.
Graduate students seeking structured writing time and faculty members looking to advance scholarly work are encouraged to participate. Whether staying for the full day or carving out a focused hour, the Write-A-Thon offers a supportive academic environment dedicated to writing progress and scholarly momentum. Tea, coffee, and a light continental breakfast will be provided. Please bring your water flasks; there is a water station in Peabody.
A scholarly Write-A-Thon is an intensive, community-centered writing experience that helps seasoned scholars, mid-career researchers, and graduate students make meaningful progress on major projects within a focused timeframe.
Established in 1985, the LSU Writing Project promotes the exploration of writing, writing research, and effective instructional practices among educators. Its mission is to improve the teaching of writing and support Louisiana students in becoming accomplished writers and learners. Through professional development and outreach, the project serves a network of 10 parishes, their districts, and schools across southern Louisiana.
