LSU School of Kinesiology to Host Stefania Toselli, PhD, from the University of Bologna as a Visiting Scholar

BATON ROUGE, LA — LSU School of Kinesiology will host Stefania Toselli, PhD, from the University of Bologna in Italy as a visiting scholar. Toselli will give
two free talks on April 15 and 16, discussing how culture and measurement shape body
image and health across the lifespan.

Toselli is a Full Professor in the Department of Life Quality Sciences at the University of Bologna and a research collaborator with Jaclyn Hadfield, PhD, assistant professor in the LSU School of Kinesiology. Trained in biological and anthropological sciences, Toselli specializes in anthropometric assessment and body‑composition analysis across the life course, with research on growth, aging, fat distribution, measurement methods, and cultural influences on body image. Toselli leads cross‑population and kinanthropometry studies that connect measurement practice to public‑health and anthropological questions. Her visit to LSU is supported by a University of Bologna mobility fund for projects with North American universities.
