Sunyoung Park, PhD, Named Outstanding HRD Scholar by Academy of Human Resource Development

Sunyoung Park AwardBATON ROUGE, LASunyoung Park, PhD, associate director and professor in the LSU School of Leadership & Human Resource Development, received the Outstanding HRD Scholar Award from the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) at its annual conference in February 2026.

Park served as a Board Director of AHRD from February 2023 to February 2026. In this role, she supported member engagement through Special Interest Groups (SIGs). During the annual conference, she facilitated SIG Chair meetings, first-time attendee orientations, and the SIG Mixer to strengthen member involvement and community building within the academy. Prior to her board service, she contributed extensively to AHRD as Conference Program Chair, Proceedings Editor, Assistant Proceedings Editor, and Track Chair. She currently serves as Chair of the Early Career Award Committee and serves on both the Book Award and Dissertation Award Committees.

This prestigious award recognizes a scholar who has demonstrated sustained scholarly productivity and significant influence in advancing research and knowledge within the field. The selection process includes nomination, peer review, and a vote by previous award recipients—distinguished senior scholars in the field—making this recognition particularly meaningful. This honor reflects both her sustained scholarly efforts and the continued support provided by the school and college. As of February 25, 2026, her scholarly record includes 7,867 citations, 90 peer-reviewed journal articles, 130 conference proceedings (including 16 posters), 17 book chapters, and 54 invited talks.
