SLHRD Doctoral Student Awarded Research Grant from Louisiana Nature & Health Alliance

BATON ROUGE, LA — Grace Mahfouz, a doctoral student in LSU's School of Leadership & Human Resource
Development, has been awarded $2,000 from the Louisiana Nature & Health Alliance (LSU
Chapter) to support her dissertation research.
Mahfouz's work looks at how transformational leadership can shape employees' motivation to generate environmentally sustainable ideas in the workplace — exploring the role leaders and individual psychological factors play in encouraging what researchers call "green creativity."
The grant, awarded through the LSU Chapter of the Louisiana Nature & Health Alliance, will allow Mahfouz to compensate study participants, helping her recruit a larger, more representative sample and strengthen the reliability of her findings.

The Louisiana Nature & Health Alliance (LSU Chapter) launched in March 2026 through the LSU School of Kinesiology, backed by $20,000 from the national Nature & Health Alliance to support research and strengthen partnerships focused on nature and human health across Louisiana.
