LSU Kinesiology to Host 14th Annual Louisiana Parkinson’s Conference

June 11, 2026

BATON ROUGE, LA – The LSU School of Kinesiology will host the 14th Annual Louisiana Parkinson’s Conference on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the C. B. Pennington Jr. Conference Center.

The annual conference brings together people with Parkinson’s disease, care partners, healthcare professionals, researchers, students and community members for a day of education, connection and practical resources. Attendees will hear from leading voices in Parkinson’s advocacy, clinical care, rehabilitation and research while learning strategies to support quality of life and whole-person wellness.

This year’s P. J. Mills Keynote Address, “Welcome to the Club Nobody Wanted to Join,” will be presented by Bryce Perry, an internationally recognized Parkinson’s advocate, keynote speaker, and founder of Doing Life Today, a global platform dedicated to empowering individuals affected by Parkinson’s disease through education, community and lived experience. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s at age 40, Perry has lived with the condition for more than 15 years. Through his work as a speaker, content creator and host of Living with Parkinson’s: The Good, the Bad, and the Reality, he helps people with Parkinson’s, care partners and healthcare professionals better understand the realities of life after diagnosis. Known for his honesty, humor and hope, Perry’s message challenges outdated narratives and encourages a more empowered, informed perspective on living fully with Parkinson’s.

Conference sessions will also include:

  • Interactive demonstration by Jany Champagne with DoPaBeats
  • “Using Nonmedical Interventions as ‘Medicine’ for People with Parkinson’s Disease” with Jan Hondzinski, PhD, and Taylor Gauss, PhD
  • “Medication Management in Parkinson’s Disease” with Rachel Rhinehart, PA-C, MPAS
  • Interactive demonstration led by Stephanie Fletcher with Sage Rehabilitation Hospital
