Certificate of Education Specialist (EdS) in Curriculum & Instruction: Special Education

Thank you for your interest in LSU graduate special education programs. Special educators who have earned a Master of Education degree are the ideal professionals to pursue the Specialist Certificate. Graduate hours that are earned during a master's degree and related to remedial or special education may be applied toward the 60-hour program. Candidates often pursue certification coursework related to the educational diagnostician and/or reading specialist positions en route to the specialist degree. As with the master's degree, additional academic and/or behavioral professional expertise may be the candidate goal.
