Marc Aubanel
Marc Aubanel is a Professional-in-Residence at CCT and the Director of the Digital Media Arts & Engineering (DMAE) program.
Aubanel earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Concordia University in 1989 and his Master of Educational Technology (MET) from the University of British Columbia in 2014.
He joined LSU in 2013 as the founding director of the DMAE program, where he developed the curriculum from the ground up and guided it through university approval. He oversees fundraising, hiring, planning, and program strategy, and teaches courses in game design, project management, production, and digital media development.
Before joining LSU, Aubanel spent over a decade in the video game industry, serving as Executive Producer and Vice President at Electronic Arts (EA) in Vancouver from 1992 to 2006, where he led large production teams on high-profile titles. He later became Academic Director for Game Art & Design and Visual Game Programming at the Art Institute of Vancouver from 2008 to 2013, where he built one of Canada’s top-ranked programs in game and media arts.
Jason Jamerson is the Director of the CCT XR Studio and an Assistant Professor of Virtual Production and Immersive Media at Louisiana State University, with a joint appointment in the School of Art and the School of Theatre.
Jamerson earned his MFA in Production Design from University of Arizona in 2019.
His research and creative practice focus on virtual production, XR storytelling, and AI-assisted design. He works at the intersection of experiential narrative and cutting-edge digital media, managing the XR Studio in LSU’s Digital Media Center and teaching courses in film production, animation, game design, VFX, and digital asset creation.
Before joining LSU, Jamerson spent over a decade in New York City as a production designer, design supervisor, and VFX artist.

Derick Ostrenko
Derick Ostrenko is an Associate Professor in the School of Art at Louisiana State University, with a joint appointment at the Center for Computation & Technology (CCT).
Ostrenko earned his M.F.A. in Digital + Media from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2010 and his B.A. in Digital Art from Stetson University in 2008.
He joined LSU in 2010. At LSU, he teaches in the areas of digital art, creative coding, 3D graphics, interactive installation, and video production, and serves as Program Coordinator for Digital Art. His work bridges technology, design, and culture, creating interactive and data-driven installations that explore digital systems and human experience.
Before joining LSU, Ostrenko worked in creative technology and media design, including roles as Creative Trainer at Apple (2010–2011), Creative Technologist and Co-Founder of Popsnorkle LLC (2006–2011), and Teaching Assistant and Designer at the Rhode Island School of Design (2008–2010). He also founded 6DOF Lab (2018–2020), a studio focused on immersive media and spatial computing.
