Minor in Applied Statistics at LSU

Minor in Applied Statistics 

The minor in Applied Statistics is available at the undergraduate level, at the master's level, and also at the Ph.D. level. Students wanting to earn the minor in Applied Statistics should contact the Department of Experimental Statistics advisor for the minor (mccarter@lsu.edu) as early in their program as possible to set up an advising appointment to schedule their minor coursework in order to help ensure that they will be able to graduate on time.

Students must declare their minor area with the Academic Counselor in the College of Agriculture for the minor to appear on the student's official transcript. Upon completion of the minor, students must have a minimum GPA of 2.00 on all work taken in the minor field for both the LSU grade point average and the overall grade point average.

NOTE: The student must complete all requirements in the minor program no later than the semester of graduation from the major degree program.

    EXST 3201 (4hrs): Statistical Analysis II

    EXST 4050 (4hrs): Principles and Theory of Statistics

  • EXST 4012 (3hrs): Introduction to Sampling Techniques
  • EXST 4025 (3hrs): SAS Programming
  • EXST 4087 (3hrs): Special Topics in Applied Statistics
  • EXST 4142 (3hrs): Introduction to R and Statistical Data Mining
