Department of Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness

The LSU Department of Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness generates, applies, and disseminates knowledge on a wide range of issues important to agribusiness, agricultural production, food marketing, farm policy, natural resource use and rural development in Louisiana, the nation, and the global community. The department employs the highest scholarly standards in the teaching, research, and outreach/extension programs that are integral to the purpose of the land-grant university system.

Avery Hebert of Erath, Louisiana, has been chosen to represent the LSU Tiger Twelve Class of 2023. The recognition in LSU Tiger Twelve has been an aspiration for Hebert since her first year at LSU and has fueled her drive to become deeply involved on campus and in the community.

Three outstanding students from LSU's College of Agriculture have been chosen to represent the LSU Tiger Twelve Class of 2023: Avery Hebert, Jackson Martingayle and Zachary Mayfield.

Two LSU College of Agriculture students attended this year's National Young Farmer's Educational Association (NYFEA) Ag Promise event in Washington, D.C.
