About the Social Research & Evaluation Center
LSU's Social Research & Evaluation Center (SREC) works with communities, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, researchers, and other partners to understand complex challenges and strengthen the programs and initiatives designed to address them.
Housed in LSU's College of Human Sciences & Education, SREC brings together an interdisciplinary team of researchers, evaluators, data specialists, and subject-matter experts. Through applied research, program evaluation, data and analytics, training, and community engagement, we help partners understand needs, measure progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and make evidence-informed decisions.
Our work addresses issues affecting individuals, families, and communities in Louisiana and beyond, including health and behavioral health, education, community safety, economic well-being, and resilience.
Louisiana Board of Regents Center of Research Excellence
The LSU Social Research & Evaluation Center is designated a Center of Research Excellence by the Louisiana Board of Regents. The designation recognizes centers that advance research, develop new knowledge, integrate research and education, and contribute to Louisiana's economic and community development.
SREC earned this recognition for its interdisciplinary research, evaluation expertise, strong record of collaboration, and work addressing complex issues affecting individuals, families, and communities across Louisiana.
