The chief function of the Louisiana Applied and Educational Oil Spill Research and Development Program (OSRADP) was to provide oil spill planners and response personnel with practical, scientifically sound and cost effective spill prevention, management and mitigation tools.

For nearly two decades, from 1 July 1993 to 30 June 2011, OSRADP provided the oil and gas industry with an assortment of tools and techniques related to spill response, cleanup and public outreach.
