From LSU Sociology to Peace Corps Peru

The Department of Sociology is proud of our recent alumni, Nicole Bryer, who graduated in December 2018 with a double-major in sociology and microbiology. Nicole is currently training to serve as a WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Facilitator, Peace Corps Volunteer in Peru. WASH’s goals are to foster the implementation of a Water Safety Plan, support our local community leaders, and promote sanitary education. Nicole hopes her two-year service will help improve the capacity of local committees, community leaders, and communities in water maintenance and hygiene education for a sustainable program. We wish Nicole great success with her Peace Corps program!
