Archaeology doctoral student reports on fieldwork in Ghana in the Bulletin of the Society of Africanist Archaeologists
Congratulations to Kelvin Asare on the recent publication of his article "A Report
on Preliminary Fieldwork at Nsakye, the Third Capital of the Akwamu Empire" in Issue
104 of Nyame Akuma, the Bulletin of the Society of Africanist Archaeologists. The article reports on
the results of Kelvin's initial field season at Nsakye in the Eastern Region of Ghana
where his team and local collaborators surveyed the landscape and tested archaeological
deposits in June 2025.
The Nsakye field research is part of Kelvin's doctoral dissertation work and has so
far yielded significant new insights into the ancient history of Ghana.
