We Remember Dr. Robert Baumann

It is with great sadness that I share news of the passing of Robert H. “Bob” Baumann, one of the founding members of the LSU Center for Energy Studies. Dr. Baumann passed away on November 6th. He was an alumnus of our department, and he earned his MS Geography degree with Dr. Jess Walker (Interrelationships of Marsh Elevation, Water Level, Sedimentation and Other Selected Variables in the Lower Barataria Basin, Louisiana – MS 1980).  He was a stalwart supporter of our department and secured critical funding for the renovation of the Departmental Alumni Seminar Room. He became a prominent voice in shaping Louisiana energy and chemical industry policy.
