Mat Keel Receives Grant from the American Ethnological Society

Mat Keel is the recipient of a competitive Small Fieldwork Grant from the American Ethnological Society. He will use it to conduct preliminary fieldwork this summer for his dissertation project, “Triggering the Plantation Unconscious,” conducting extensive interviews to research the nexus of psychological dissociation, nature and the contemporary persistence of the plantation assemblage in racialized ecological subject formation on the Gulf Coast states.
