Geography Students Win Awards at the American Association of Geographers (AAG) Annual Meeting:

Sumaiya Siddique received the PhD Graduate Student Paper Award from the AAG Geomorphology Specialty Group for her presentation titled, “Assessing over 100-years of geomorphic change and anthropogenic alterations on the Grand River, Michigan”. This award recognizes high-quality research contribution to the field of geomorphology and the effectiveness of the presentation.

Trung Tran received the Undergraduate Student Poster Award from the AAG Geomorphology Specialty Group for his poster titled, “A classification of neck cutoffs incorporating cutoff centerline curvature based on a global database of meandering rivers”. This award recognizes high-quality research contribution to the field of geomorphology and the effectiveness of the presentation. The research conducted by Mr. Tran was supported by the LSU College of Humanities and Social Sciences ASPIRE Undergraduate Research Program.
