About the Conference
The One Big Thanks Conference (OBT) brings together student leaders and advisors from across the country to share ideas, strengthen servant leadership, and explore new ways to grow their campus's Big Event. Founded by Texas A&M University in 2006, OBT creates a collaborative space where institutions learn from one another, build lasting connections, and celebrate the impact of student-led service.
Since its introduction in 1982, The Big Event has grown into the largest one-day, student-run service project in the nation. While every campus's Big Event reflects the unique needs of its community, each shares the same mission: engaging students through meaningful service and community engagement.
Join us at LSU Student Union, January 29–31, 2027, to connect with peers, exchange best practices, and return to your campus with new ideas, fresh inspiration, and practical strategies to make an even greater impact.
