Saints watch party, Bob Blackmon Scholarship, 2022 dues

[31 October 2022] Please join members of the SRNR/FWF Alumni Association at Tin Roof Brewing at Noon, Sunday, November 13th to watch the Saints play the Steelers and enjoy old and new friendships with fellow alumni.  First beer on us!  Tin Roof Brewing is located at 1624 Wyoming St., Baton Rouge, LA and is just off Nicholson Drive near the Mississippi River bridge and Water Campus.  Please mark your calendar.

At our 2021 Annual General Meeting, the Dr. Bob Blackmon Endowed Scholarship was established at the Louisiana Forestry Foundation.  Dr. Blackmon had a distinguished career at LSU and served as the Director of the School of Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries (today School of Renewable Natural Resources).   Anyone wishing to honor Dr. Blackmon with a tax-deductible contribution to his named scholarship is invited to do so.  Checks should be written to the Louisiana Forestry Foundation and mailed to P. O. Box 5067, Alexandria, LA 71307-5067

Due to a variety of supply chain issues, our annual request for dues was not mailed in 2022.  Please consider making a contribution of $10, $100, or $1,000 as your budget permits.  We encourage $100 contributions, which include combined membership in the SRNR/FWF Alumni Association, the LSU College of Agriculture Alumni Association, and the LSU Alumni Association.  The LSU SRNR/FWF Alumni Association is an official chapter of the LSU Alumni Association.  Dues may be mailed to the address below.  Make checks payable to “SRNR/FWF Alumni Association.”  You may also pay dues by credit card using the link below.

Our students, faculty, and staff are grateful for your support.  Thank you.

Since graduating LSU in 1997, Rob Holbrook has worked with Ducks Unlimited, the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, and now the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

Rob also worked with the East Gulf Coastal Plain Joint Venture and help coordinate a multi-state partnership to conserve migratory bird habitat across six southeastern states, including portions of southeast Louisiana. He now lives in Daphne, Alabama with his wife Shannon and daughter Virginia.

Ducks in the Desert

Clint Pace (NREM ’18) is enjoying life in Scottsdale where he serves as Regional Director for Arizona and New Mexico for Ducks Unlimited, Inc. Clint’s primary responsibilities include volunteer recruitment and fundraising.

Under his guidance, AZ DU ranked #2 and NM DU at #4 in Ducks Unlimited’s Top Ten State award for calendar year 2019. Both states also received the Gold Excellence Award.

See Clint hunting with 2 volunteers in the following video: DU TV 2020: Tombstone Territory

He assure us that there are, indeed, ducks in the desert!

Annual Ring Digitized

Editions of the Annual Ring (1938-1980) have been digitized, and are available as PDFs.

The historic School yearbooks, The Annual Ring, has been digitized. There are many great pictures in the yearbooks, but most do not identify who’s in the picture. We would like to encourage each of you to browse the yearbooks and let Dr. Rutherford know when you recognize someone. Over time, we would like to add names to the photos.

To access copies of The Annual Ring go to The Annual Ring.
