Your new Tiger journey begins with Bengal Bound Orientation! Bengal Bound Orientation is required for all incoming students and is designed to introduce you to LSU's campus and connect you with other new Tigers while sharing with you the multitude of academic resources and student life opportunities at LSU. A direct link to register will be sent to the email address indicated on your application for admission.
To fulfill the orientation requirement, new Tigers must do ALL of the following:
- Register for Bengal Bound Orientation
- Attend Bengal Bound Orientation (on-campus or virtually)
- Complete all New Student Task & Requirements

Welcome to the Tiger Family! Participating in Bengal Bound, Lousiana State University's new student orientation, is the next step in your new Tiger journey. During Bengal Bound you will learn how to take full advantage of all the academic programs, student life services, and extracurricular activities Louisiana State University has to offer. As a new undergraduate student, you are required to register for and complete Bengal Bound Orientation in order to have your first semester schedule created. Your family is encouraged to participate in Bengal Bound programs designed for family members and learn more about what you will be experiencing as a new Tiger.
Now that you have submitted the enrollment deposit, you can register for the early orientation program titled Bengal Bound Spring Invitational (SPIN). You will have the opportunity to select one date to participate in Bengal Bound. Each date is either an in-person or virtual one-day experience and is identified in the list of available dates. If a date is available, it will show on the registration form list; otherwise, the program on that date has met capacity.
For new Tigers in Texas, you have the option to attend a session in either Houston or Dallas. Additional Bengal Bound On The Geaux dates will be available May-August in various cities. Remember, Bengal Bound SPIN is an early orientation program - which means there will be additional dates in May-August that will be released in April. All dates listed in the registration form will satisfy the LSU orientation requirement.
The fee for Bengal Bound is $160 and includes registration for you and one guest. When registering, you can pay now or defer the payment to your first-semester fee bill.
Each of these days will provide you with a full day of mandatory sessions and optional appointments, between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m
Fall/Summer 2023 Transfer Students
Your next step in becoming an LSU Tiger is orientation registration! Now that you have submitted your enrollment deposit, you can register for Bengal Bound Transfer Orientation. A direct link to register will be sent to the email address indicated on your application for admission.
As a new Tiger, you must register for Bengal Bound to schedule classes for your first semester. Course registration will open in April, and we want you to be registered for classes before your scheduled Bengal Bound date. The fee for Bengal Bound is $160 and includes registration for you and one guest. When registering, you can pay now or defer the payment to your first-semester fee bill.

Yes. All new undergraduate students are required to complete Bengal Bound Orientation in order to complete enrollment at Louisiana State University (not required for Graduate, Post-Baccalaureate, Visiting, or Re-Admits). Registration for orientation costs $160 (non-refundable) for both freshman and transfer students. Louisiana State University is committed to the orientation and academic transition of each new student. A new student will have the opportunity to receive academic advisement and an opportunity to learn and sign up or different university services.
Yes. All students have the option of fee deferral. If fee deferral is selected as a payment method, it means the student will be billed the $160 non-refundable orientation fee at the beginning of their first semester.
After you submit your enrollment deposit you will be eligible to register for Bengal Bound Orientation. You will receive an email invitation to register.
Freshman Students:
The registration form takes about 10 minutes to complete. You will have the opportunity to select your schedule preferences on the registration form, which your advisor will consider as they build your course schedule. Once registered, your name will be added to a list and an advisor will begin creating your first-semester schedule for you.
Transfer Students:
Once registered for Orientation, the hold will be removed from your account within 48 business hours which will then allow you to register for your first semester courses. Before registering for your first semester, you should make arrangements to meet with an academic advisor to discuss your course options. No. Online orientation is a series of modules which will be made available AFTER your orientation date. Online orientation serves a resource you can refer back to throughout your time at LSU.
On average, it takes about two hours to complete the modules, and they do not have to be done all at once. If you need a break, your progress will be saved for you. This information will be available to you throughout your time at LSU, so we hope you will continue to refer back to it as a resource. You will receive an email with login instructions after your Bengal Bound session.
The online orientation will cover the following topics: Academics, Financial Matters, Support Services, Student Life, Policies & Safety
Though not required, family members/guests who serve in primary support roles are encouraged to participate in the Bengal Bound along with you. The orientation fee includes one guest, and additional guest can be added for $25 per person on-site during check-in.
We have many programs and services specifically designed for family members. Louisiana State University believes that the college experience represents a collaboration involving the student, the family of the student and the University. We invite family members to participate in Bengal Bound. We hope that by participating, you will become informed about the University’s academic programs, policies, facilities and services.
Family members and guests will participate in a majority of sessions together during Bengal Bound. While the student attends the Orientation Group, families will take part in the Introduction to being a Tiger Family Member session.
- Complete Immunization Requirements
- Submit final transcripts
- Submit official test scores
- Complete placement exams (optional)
Freshman Students:
Advisors will begin creating your schedule once you register for Bengal Bound. After your schedule is finalized, you will receive an email with instructions on how to view it and how to set up an appointment with an advisor, if needed. All course schedules for Bengal Bound students will be completed and made available to you no later than May 2023. All registered students are guaranteed to have a course schedule and an opportunity to meet with an advisor before the start of the Fall semester.

Students should send verification of all credit received to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. If you have already requested that these items to be sent, please allow up to two weeks for processing.
