Bengal Bound Orientation LIVE

June 12, June 18, June 26, July 9

Join us for a full day of programming and one-on-one appointments geared toward student success! You will have an opportunity to meet with orientation advisors and financial aid representatives, tour residential halls, submit immunization forms, get any necessary vaccines, take placement exams, and much more.

The cost of this program is included in your Bengal Bound Orientation fee, so there is no additional payment required for you or your family to attend this on-campus event.

Each of these days will provide you will a full day of sessions and appointments, between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. If you select Purple Track, your structured programming will begin at 9 a.m. with your Create Your Day sessions and appointments beginning at 12 p.m. If you select the Gold Track, your structured programming will begin at 1 p.m. with your Create Your Day sessions and appointments starting at 9 a.m.

All deposited students will receive an email with a direct link to register on Friday, May 28th.  Registration will close 3 days prior to each event.

Bengal Bound Orientation

Your new Tiger journey begins with Bengal Bound Orientation! Bengal Bound Orientation is required for all incoming students and is designed to introduce you to LSU's campus while connecting you to the multitude of academic resources and student life opportunities. A direct link to register will be sent to the email address indicated on your application for admission.

To fulfill the orientation requirement, new Tigers must do ALL of the following:   

  • Register for Bengal Bound Orientation
  • Complete Online Orientation Modules
  • Attend an Orientation Group Meeting
  • Attend a Senior College Meeting
  • Attend the Engage Your Tiger Experience program
  • Complete New Student Task & Requirements

Bengal Bound Freshman Orientation: Fall Admits

Sessions for freshmen students starting in the Fall 2021 semester

After you submit your enrollment deposit you will be eligible to register for Bengal Bound Orientation. Once registered, your name will be added to a list and an orientation advisor will begin creating a first-semester schedule for you. You are guaranteed to have your schedule by the week of your orientation group meeting if you register at least 2 weeks before. You will have the opportunity to select your schedule preferences on the registration form, which your advisor will consider as they build your course schedule.

Online orientation is a series of modules which must be completed PRIOR to your first Bengal Bound Orientation Session. It is intentionally designed to prepare you for your first semester at LSU, as it provides information about academic resources and student life opportunities. On average, students need about two hours to complete the modules, and they do not have to be done all at once. If you need a break, your progress will be saved for you. This information will be available to you throughout your time at LSU, so we hope you will continue to refer back to it as a resource. You will receive an email with login instructions in early May.  

The online orientation will cover the following topics: Academics, Financial Matters, Support Services, Student Life, Policies & Safety

Bengal Bound orientation has three mandatory sessions: your Orientation Group Meeting, the Engage Your Tiger Experience Program, and the Senior College Meeting. During your Bengal Bound Orientation Registration, you will select one day and one time for each program. You will have the opportunity to change dates as needed and can build an orientation experience that best fits your schedule.

  • The Orientation Group Meeting is a small group meeting with 30-40 peers and a Student Success Guide, an upperclassman student leader. During this interactive session, you will have the opportunity to meet with other new students, ask any questions you have, and learn more about your academic and social experience at LSU.
  • The Engage Your Tiger Experience program is an opportunity to hear from several campus departments and organizations about ways you can actively engage and get involved in the LSU community outside of the classroom.
  • The Senior College Meeting is an informational session hosted by your Senior College and will cover additional information about your major and career paths.

Parents and family members are encouraged to participate in the Bengal Bound Family Orientation program offerings, such as the Intro to Being a Tiger Family Member & Panel live zoom session. An email will be sent to parents with a link to register as programs become available.

Orientation advisors will begin creating your once you register for Bengal Bound Orientation.  After your schedule is finalized, you will receive an email with instructions on how to view it and how to set up an appointment with an advisor, if needed. All course schedules for Bengal Bound Orientation students will be completed and made available to you no later than the week of your Orientation Group Meeting, if scheduled two weeks out. All registered students are guaranteed to have a course schedule and an opportunity to meet with an advisor before the start of the Fall semester.

Bengal Bound Transfer Orientation

Once registered for Orientation, the hold will be removed from your account within 48 business hours which will then allow you to register for your first semester courses. Before registering for your first semester, you should make arrangements to meet with an academic advisor to discuss your course options.
