Letter to our Ukrainian Students

To Our Ukrainian Students, 

We start the day on a solemn note as reports came in overnight of the Russian invasion into neighboring Ukraine. We understand that many of you are struggling in light of this devastating situation. We want to share our thoughts and prayers with all of those affected by these tragic events.   

As always, the safety and well-being of our entire community is our priority. Please know that we are here for you and that we are committed to being a resource and providing support to all in need. In the coming weeks, there will be opportunities for us to gather, learn, and share knowledge. There are also on and off-campus resources that can provide support and services to those in need, including:

  • LSU Mental Health Service provides clinical services that enhance LSU students' personal growth and development, address psychological needs, and support the pursuit of academic goals. Please call 225-578-8774 if you would like to schedule a consultation appointment with a therapist at Mental Health Service. 
  • "The Phone" is a 24-hour intervention and referral service for crisis and emotional support. Call, text, or chat 225-924-LSU1 (5781)
  • The LSU Student Emergency Support Fund benefits students in need of support in emergency situations. Click here to apply for an award of up to $750.
  • The Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability offers services that include emotional support, referrals to campus and community resources, financial hardship, etc. You can schedule a meeting via email or contact them via phone (225) 578-4307. 

We encourage you all to channel that LSU spirit of resilience and compassion during this time and to utilize the resources available to you.
