International Programs Hires New Director of International Services

International Programs is pleased to welcome Annette Burris as the incoming Director of International Services (ISO).
Burris has over 19 years of experience in the field of international education, working with international students and scholars, as well as numerous aspects of international education administration. Prior to joining LSU, Burris served as the Associate Director at Vanderbilt University International Student and Scholar Services and contributed her leadership and talents in a variety of capacities to international services teams at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Burris has presented regionally and nationally on topics related to international
student advising, in addition to facilitating and leading trainings on F-1 and J-1
regulations, and serving in regional and national leadership positions within NAFSA:
Association of International Educators. Within academic settings, she has engaged
international students in dialogues and trainings on social justice and identity.
Burris holds a B.A. in Spanish and French from Saint Louis University and an M.Ed.
in adult and higher education administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
She will assume her role on January 12, 2022.
