Our faculty carry out nationally and internationally recognized research on basic and applied social science questions. Every semester our undergraduate teaching program serves hundreds of majors and minors, as well as hundreds of additional students as part of our contribution to LSU’s general education mission. We are also home to a vibrant graduate teaching program with more than 50 students, which offers the only PhD in sociology in the state of Louisiana.
