The LSU College of Humanities & Social Sciences and the LSU Law Center are hosting Geaux Pre-Law Week from Monday, September 28 through Monday, October 5, 2026. All LSU students are welcome to attend Geaux Pre-Law Week activities to learn more about law school admissions, the HSS 3+3 Pre-Law program, and how to prepare for success in applying to and enrolling in law school.

Personal Statement Workshop

Writing a personal statement may seem like the most challenging task in the application
process. To write a statement that will help win a seat in the law program of your
choice, you need to think like a member of the admissions committee. During this workshop,
participants will:
- Understand the purpose of the personal statement and the necessary components of a strong personal statement.
- Identify how to effectively tell their story through reflection and pre-writing activities.

Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal Visit with Judge Chris Hester

Get an in-depth look at the First Circuit Court of Appeal, which includes a tour and
visits with Judge Hester and other circuit judges.
*Space is limited as students will travel by bus to downtown Baton Rouge for this event. All attendees are expected to dress appropriately and respectfully for the courthouse setting. Participating students should wear business casual attire. Jeans, athletic shoes, revealing clothing, and other attire considered inappropriate for a courtroom are not permitted.
