Biography

Summer is responsible for providing programming, support, and initiatives for students, faculty, staff & community members related to gender equity.  She recently supervised the revision & relaunch of the Safe Space training initiative and teaches courses in Women‚Äô, Gender, & Sexuality Studies.  In addition to campus leadership positions, Summer is a member of the Mayor‚Äôs Women‚Äôs Advancement Commission and is President of the Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault (LaFASA). She is the inaugural recipient of the Summer Steib Bridge Builder Award presented by LaFASA and was recognized as a Top 50 Women Leaders of Louisiana for 2022 by Women We Admire.
