Biography

Tranell Mitchell, hails from the charming town of Edgard, Louisiana, where she embarked on a journey of academic and professional achievement. 

After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Tranell pursued higher education and earned a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from Lamar University, solidifying her expertise in the field. 

Tranell began her career in law enforcement, serving for seven years in various crucial roles, including as a jailer, a dedicated police officer, and an internal affairs investigator. Her commitment to maintaining law and order, along with a passion for justice, defined her early career. 

Since 2021, Tranell has shifted her focus to the vital role of a Title IX and Civil Rights Investigator. In this capacity, she actively works to uphold and enforce policies that promote inclusiveness and fairness. 

Beyond her career, Tranell finds immense pride and joy in being the mother of a wonderful son, Dexter McCoil Jr. Her dedication to both her profession and her family highlights the admirable balance she achieved in life.
