LSU connects with local neighborhoods through Community Resource Fair

Community members living in Smiley Heights, Melrose East, and Ardenwood Village gathered at a Community Resource Fair Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Saia Park, organized by the LSU Schools' of Social Work and Kinesiology.
The fair provided community members the opportunity to learn about resources that various agencies offer. A variety of organizations including Bank on Baton Rouge, EmployBR, the Mayor’s Healthy City Initiative, and BREC provided information about the services they offer. Attendees learned about opportunities for home ownership, banking, employment, home heating assistance, recreation programing, and healthy living.
The Resource Fair was organized by the BR CHOICE Neighborhood Initiative. BR Choice is a partnership between the residents of the Smiley Heights, Melrose East, and Ardenwood Village neighborhoods, the City of Baton Rouge, and LSU and is funded through a federal grant from HUD.

About CHSE
The College of Human Sciences & Education (CHSE) is a nationally accredited division of Louisiana State University.
