SSW Named Among "Top 25 Most Affordable Master's in Social Work Programs" by SocialWorkDegreeGuide.com

The LSU School of Social Work is ranked 15th in SocialWorkDegreeGuide.com’s “Top 25 Most Affordable Master’s in Social Work Programs.” The 25 most economical programs were selected from a list of 100 graduate programs as rated by U.S. News and World Report. Programs are ranked by order of quality and affordability.

“We are honored to be recognized as an economical option for our students,” said Director of the School of Social Work, Dr. Wesley Church. “Not only is the MSW degree in the LSU School of Social Work a great value, it is also a high quality program as evidenced by the fact that our students pass the national exam at rates that exceed both state and national averages.”

The 2013 LMSW passing rate for first time test takers was 80% with the state average of 56.6% and a national average of 82%. The 2013 LCSW passing rate for LSU School of Social Work alumni was 84% with a state average of 73.3% and a national average of 78%.

Every school in Social Work Degree Guide's list has tuition fees that are well below the average cost for MSW programs. LSU School of Social work has tuition rewards that make it an even more affordable choice for minority students who are eligible through the LSU Graduate School.
