May 10, 2019
Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Department of Education recently selected LSU’s Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool to support the Department in the creation of Louisiana Early Childhood Key Training Modules, Module 1A Standards. The two sessions in development are 1) Infant/Toddler and 2) Pre-Kindergarten.
“The Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool is an excellent site for the development of the early childhood key training modules. This research-driven unit in the LSU School of Education exists because of its expectations, capacity for research, and quality learning experiences for very young children. I am pleased that the Laboratory Preschool will be working with the Louisiana Department of Education in raising the standards for all of Louisiana’s preschools,” said Neil Mathews, PhD and director of the LSU School of Education.
“We are very excited to be working with the LDOE on this important work,” said Cynthia DiCarlo, professor and executive director of LSU's Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool.
