The Biomass-Derived Fuels Analysis Core (BFAC)
The Biomass-Derived Fuels Analysis Core is a core research facility managed by the LSU Office of Research & Economic Development (ORED). The facility is operated not as a standalone entity but rather as a consortium of resources offered through allied cost-recovery centers at LSU and other affiliated universities in Louisiana. The BFAC forms the Core User Facility (CUF) associated with Louisiana State University's U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) E-RISE (EPSCoR Research Incubators for STEM Excellence) project titled, "Use of a Louisiana Bio-Electric Fuel Incubator to Create Liquid Transportation Fuels from Agricultural Residues".
BFAC forms the main switchboard connecting project participants with state-wide resources for the characterization of feedstock, intermediates, and fuels associated with biomass conversion.
