Minor in Computer Science

An undergraduate minor in computer science is available. Required courses are CSC 1253, CSC 1254, CSC 2259, CSC 3102, CSC 3501, and three hours of computer science electives at the 3000 level and above; and CSC 4101 or CSC 4103 (total of 21 hours). See the General Catalog for course descriptions toward the degree requirements in computer science minor.

Students desiring a Minor in Computer Science must take the total hours required from the Division of Computer Science and Engineering. No substitutions outside of the department will be allowed. There are exceptions for Electrical and/or Computer Engineering majors and Mathematics majors.

You are cautioned to read the catalog course descriptions because frequently credit will not be given for two similar courses. You are encouraged to select courses that do not duplicate content with courses taken in another department. If you have received credit outside of the computer science department for a course similar to a course that is required for the minor, then seek written permission from an advisor to substitute another computer science course.
