The LSU graduate program in History has an excellent job placement record despite the difficulties of the current market. Recent PhD graduates have gone on to teach at institutions such as North Dakota State University, University of Scranton, Delta State University, Benedictine College, Pittsburg State University, West Point, University of Texas Permian Basin, Brewton-Parker College, Alabama State University, Texas College, and University of Mobile. Additionally, graduates who have pursued a career in secondary education teach at some of the top school systems in the state, including Episcopal of Baton Rouge, Ascension Parish, and Tangipahoa Parish.
