LSU Partners with Global Online Learning Organization Quality Matters

06/23/2020

LSU Online & Continuing Education recently announced a collaborative partnership with Quality Matters, or QM, a global non-profit organization focused on leading quality assurance for online and digital teaching environments.

Now, QM Master Reviewers and Teaching Online Certificate holders have an opportunity to have their hard work recognized by LSU when they apply their credentials for college credit toward one of the eligible online degrees or graduate certificate programs offered by LSU Online—saving them time and money.

The QM Teaching Online Certificate, or TOC, and QM-Certified Master Reviewer Pathway, or MRC, credential are recognized as prior learning and individuals can earn up to nine credits toward these LSU Online degrees:

  • Online Bachelor of Science in Leadership & Human Resource Development - three credits for QM-Certified Master Reviewer Pathway
  • Online Bachelor of Science in Learning Experience Design & Innovation - three credits for QM-Certified Master Reviewer Pathway
  • Online Master of Arts in Education - Educational Technology, MA in Ed Tech - nine credits with the TOC or MRC
  • Online Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology - nine credits with the TOC or MRC

“The reputation and rigor of the QM professional development programs are undeniable,” said Sasha Thackaberry, vice president at LSU Online & Continuing Education. “These programs are well-known in the fields of ed tech and education, which is why all of our design and development team here at LSU Online and many of our faculty members who teach online and on-campus are QM certified.”

“QM professional development participants often comment about the investment in time and effort required to successfully complete our challenging courses—specifically the Master Reviewer Certification Course and the TOC,” said Deb Adair, executive director of QM. “We are thrilled that their commitment to online learning is recognized and can be applied toward a quality LSU degree. We applaud the work LSU is doing to offer high-quality learning experiences for online students.”

Along with a personal enrollment concierge to guide them through the application process and a dedicated learner concierge to support them from program acceptance to graduation, online degree students will work with experienced faculty to prepare for lifelong careers. The application deadline for fall is Aug. 10, with classes starting Aug. 24.
