How to Get Involved

Meet with our team: Write Your Business Plan

Email Kenny Anderson to set up an initial meeting, no business idea is off limits! We are here to help; our team is full of business plan experts. If you are interested in participating, please reach out so we can start the business plan writing process. This is a chance for free startup cash, the earlier you get going, the better.

First Round: Submit Your Business Plan

Business plans must be submitted via email to Kenny Anderson by Sunday, April 7 at midnight. Participants can continually update their plans until this deadline is reached. Once the deadline is reached, all plans will be judged and scored by a panel of members in our entrepreneurial network. The top three plans will be announced April 9 and will advance to the final pitch round of the Venture Challenge on April 23 from 6-8PM at Tin Roof Brewery in Baton Rouge.

Final Round: Live Pitch

On April 23, the three finalists will give a 10 minute investor pitch to both the panel of judges and a live audience. Each pitch will be followed by a 10 minute question and answer session with the panel of judges made up of local business professionals and investors. The LSU Innovation Park also assists in the pitch formation; finalists will be well prepared before the pitch.

Startup Cash Awarded: Three Businesses Receive their Share of $25,000 prize

The judges will determine how to divide $25,000 among the three winners based on their pitches. The maximum amount per team is $15,000 and the minimum is $1,000, finalists are guaranteed cash.
