Jacqueline Bach is a professor of English Education and Curriculum Theory at Louisiana State University. Her scholarship examines how young adult literature engages teachers and students in conversations about social issues, the ways in which popular culture informs (and might improve) pedagogy, and the preparation of secondary English/ Language Arts teachers. She is the co-editor for the “Engaging Texts” section of The Journal of Curriculum Theorizing. She is a former high school English teacher.

Sarah Ferstel has worked at LSU since 2008 – her first five years were with the LSU Libraries and since 2013 she has worked for LSU Discover. As associate director, she is responsible for developing, managing, and promoting the program’s initiatives and running the day-to-day operations. She earned her bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Liberal Arts at the Louisiana Scholars’ College in Natchitoches, LA.  She spent the fall and spring semesters working in archaeological labs and summers excavating at local plantations and historical sites. While earning her Classical archaeology master’s degree from Florida State University, she taught Classical mythology courses and had the privilege to excavate at Pompeii during the summer. Sarah’s own undergraduate research project examined the development of the Isis cult in Roman Italy.

Tori Clement has worked at LSU for over a decade. Most recently, she worked in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, and before that, the Office of Assessment & Evaluation.  She completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at LSU.

Ella Magerl joined the LSU Discover team during summer 2023. Prior to LSU she worked at The University of Alabama for four years with roles in the College of Continuing Studies, University Recreation, and the Division of Community Affairs. In addition to supporting LSU Discover, Ella serves as the Program Coordinator for the LSU Gulf Scholars Program. She earned her bachelor's degree in Park Management and Conservation with a minor in Business from Kansas State University.
