LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool Application

Please read the following information carefully before submitting your online application.

Your application will be considered complete upon receiving your non-refundable application fee of $75.00. Please make your check or money order payable to LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool and mail to: LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool | 4001 Gourrier Avenue | Baton Rouge, LA  70803.

Applications for enrollment are considered on a first-come, first-served basis and are date stamped when received at the Preschool. The application form and the $75.00 application fee should be submitted as early as possible to avoid a delay in enrollment. Please note completion of the application and payment of the application fee do not guarantee placement at the Center.

Children six weeks to five years of age are eligible to enroll. Enrollment priority is determined by the following criteria:

  1. Siblings of children currently enrolled at the LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool
  2. Children of full-time staff, faculty and currently enrolled students at LSU
  3. Children of individuals with secondary affiliations to LSU
  4. Children from the surrounding community

The Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool is committed to enrolling any and all eligible children from the waiting list as soon as openings within the Preschool become available. Openings typically occur as a result of:

  • currently enrolled family providing written notice of a child’s last day of attendance, or
  • children promoted to other classrooms within the center

Most openings typically occur at the end of a semester, but occasionally openings occur in the middle of the semester.

When a position in a classroom becomes available, a member of the Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool administrative team will contact the family via e-mail to offer a space. The family will be given 72 hours to accept or decline the space. This short time frame is intentional so families on the waiting list have the shortest wait possible.

Once a placement offer is accepted, parents will enroll in our online tuition and fee payment system FACTS. For a breakdown of fees and tuition, please visit this webpage.

A 30 day written notice is required before a contract can be terminated by the parent/guardian. If a written 30 day notice is not given prior to withdrawal of the child, the family will be held responsible for the month of tuition after the written notification of withdrawal is received. Tuition for withdrawn students will not be prorated, regardless of when notice is given. A continuous absence of a period of two weeks without payment or notification is considered a withdrawal.
