In the event of a crisis situation, LSU will communicate vital information as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to provide the greatest safety for our students, faculty, and staff. One or more of the following communication tools will be used to notify students, faculty, and staff:
- Web site: Notice posted on the University home page and PAWS
- E-mail: Broadcast message to campus e-mail addresses
- Telephone: Broadcast voice mail to campus extensions and posted to emergency alert hotline 225-578-4636 or 1-800-516-6444
- Media: Media alerts distributed to all area print and broadcast media representatives
- Text Messaging: Messages will be sent out from the LSU Emergency Operations Center to all users enrolled in the Emergency Text Messaging System
LSU has an extensive Emergency Preparedness Plan in place that includes procedures to ensure a rapid response to any crisis situation. All crisis communication tools are tested and evaluated on a regular basis.
