Advanced Manufacturing and Machining Facility (AMMF)

The Advanced Manufacturing and Machining Facility (AMMF) at Louisiana State University have committed to providing the very best facilities and resources to enhance the educational experiences for students as well as to provide state-of-the-art capabilities and services for research in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, the College of Engineering, other campus units, and the Community. The AMMF is a founding member of the Central Users Facilities (CUF) of the Consortium for Innovation in Materials and Manufacturing, a cooperative agreement funded by the National Science Foundation and the LA Board of Regents.

130 Engineering Laboratory Annex Building (ELAB).

Hours of Operation
6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Capabilities

The AMMF provides

  • manufacturing and machining services in support of research at reduced rates,
  • resources and services in support of the Capstone Design Program courses (i.e., ME 4243, ME 4202, ME 2212) and project-based learining in general, and
  • resources and services in support of manufacturing courses (e.g., ME 3633).

ME AMMF Benefactors

Gracious financial gifts from Mr. Frank H. Walk, Mr. Bob Alford, Ms. Marion Alford, Mr. Joe Wink, Mr. Buzz Rayborn, and the Fluor Corporation have made the ME AMMF the great facility that it is today.
