"Mentoring
originates from a Greek word meaning endurance and is known to
be one of the oldest forms of influence. In literature, it
originates from the Greek tales of how the King of Ithaca would
leave his son with a friend Mentor while he went out to war,
giving Mentor the responsibilities of nurturing, building up and
making a positive impact on the King's son.
Mentoring has
inspired so much success and growth in individuals and
communities and is the reason why many Mentoring Programs are
being set up in schools and communities today."
